DESCRIPTION:Dear Earhart Ocean Guardians\, \nOur school is participating in the first coastal cleanup of the year! Fresh water from our streams drain into the bay’s saltwater creating an ecosystem that hosts diverse plant and animal life. This kind of habitat is called an estuary\, and it lies right in front of our school’s doorstep! As we are profoundly connected to other aquatic\, aviary and terrestrial species besides ourselves\, we aim to maintain the health of our estuaries. Plastic litter makes its way to the waterways\, and weathers to become smaller and smaller particles that fish and birds consume. We can pick up as many bottle caps\, ketchup packets\, straws\, and other interesting articles left behind or blown away from trash bins\, to lessen the effects of our consumer life on wildlife. \nWe have robohands and gloves to use. If you can bring a bucket from home\, that would make the job easier. Also\, wear clothes for the morning weather\, and some like to wear rain boots as the ground is muddy and mucky in places. We also require that people wear masks and keep a safe distance from other families. \nWe will meet at 8:30AM Saturday\, March 5 in front of the Amelia statue. DESCRIPTION:The PTA is excited to gift each student with an Earhart t-shirt featuring the winning design\, as voted by the students. Next week the new school spirit site launches\, where you can purchase additional shirts as well as other Earhart apparel. \nMany thanks to 2nd-grade parents Bruce Kuei and Asako Miyamori for designing all of the logos the students had to choose from. On the school spirit site\, there will also be items featuring the second-place “Aviator Twins” design as well. \nVolunteers Needed \nDistribution will take place after school the week of February 7th. Either students or parents will be able to pick up the shirt. We will need a few volunteers to help pass out t-shirts. Please sign up here.

Fresh water from our streams drain into the bay’s saltwater creating an ecosystem that hosts diverse plant and animal life. This kind of habitat is called an estuary\, and it lies right in front of our school’s doorstep! As we are profoundly connected to other aquatic\, aviary and terrestrial species besides ourselves\, we aim to maintain the health of our estuaries. Plastic litter makes its way to the waterways\, and weathers to become smaller and smaller particles that fish and birds consume. We can pick up as many bottle caps\, ketchup packets\, straws\, and other interesting articles left behind or blown away from trash bins\, to lessen the effects of our consumer life on wildlife. \nWe have robohands and gloves to use. If you can bring a bucket from home\, that would make the job easier. Also\, wear clothes for the morning weather\, and some like to wear rain boots as the ground is muddy and mucky in places. We also require that people wear masks and keep a safe distance from other families. \nWe will meet at 8:30AM Saturday\, September 11 in front of the Amelia statue. SUMMARY:Go Green Shoe Drive Recycling Event
DESCRIPTION:The Earhart Go Green Committee is pleased to announce our upcoming shoe drive\, in collaboration with Green Teams from Otis and Edison Elementary Schools\, during the week of 10/19 – 10/23. We are currently seeking “host homes” for shoe collection bins. Bins can be as simple as a large cardboard box with a sign on it. If you are willing to host a donation collection bin outside your home or local business for that week\, please contact Andie Cultrera\, andiegrrl@gmail.com . \n(Details on the drive and guidelines for donations will be available after donation bin locations have been secured.)
