Yearbook Photo Deadline

The last day to upload your photos for yearbook consideration is Monday after the break. The final day for yearbook preorders and free shipping to school is Friday, May 5th.

Earth Week & Bread Tag Recycling

A full schedule will be announced soon, but a special four-week recycling event will kick off on Monday, April 17th. Our school will collect plastic bread bag tags to donate to Danielle Cares for Chairs. This spring break–start saving those bread bag tags!

Bread Tag Recycling Event (through May 12) Please collect your bread tags starting today! Bread tags will be donated to the non-profit organization Danielle Care for Chairs, which uses the revenue from recycling bread tags to purchase mobility products, like wheelchairs for those in need. See the flyer for more details. Celebrate Earth Week with Garden Club  1:50 pm - 2:50 pm by the science building Help us create compost for the school garden and learn how to plant food scraps. See the flyer for materials to collect by grade level.

2023 Garden Club Meeting

Earhart Elementary School 400 Packet Landing, Alameda, CA, United States

This free, volunteer-led club is for TK-5th graders and their families. We ask that a caregiver accompany TK-2nd graders, but this is not required. Meetups will be on Wednesdays after school from 1:50-2:50 pm  (or 12:10-1:10 pm for early release Wednesdays) and 1 Saturday a month, likely on Ocean Clean-up days. We need at least four parent volunteers to commit to 1 hr a month on Wednesdays. Parents are always welcome to drop in if you are interested but can’t commit to a schedule. Conservation Thursday – 4/20

Have you seen our exciting new neighbors here on Bay Farm? The bald eagles! Your children will learn about the ecology of bald eagles and the threats they face from climate change through a video recorded by our Go Green PTA team member Christine Gehrig Downie, an environmental scientist from Berkeley.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Community of Practice: Belonging

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Community of Practice April 20: Belonging All sessions 6:30-7:30 p.m. via Zoom: https://alamedaunified.zoom.us/j/82491129334   AUSD will host a series of five community learning conversations to learn and discuss the essential conditions that foster safe and inclusive spaces in our schools. All AUSD community members and parent/guardian school site leaders who would like to learn about and help build safe and inclusive school communities are welcome.

Reducing your Carbon Footprint and Tackling Plastic Pollution (8:45 am in the MPR) Presentation by Go Green PTA Committee Chair Idania Zamora, a climate scientist from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. Earth Day Music Concert (1:20 pm - Dismissal) Parents are invited to watch the concert in the yard. Please remind your students to wear and bring sun protection for the concert (e.g., hats, sunglasses, sunblock) and avoid heavy or dark-colored clothes to avoid overheating.

Coastal Cleanup – Ocean Guardians

It's time to bring those buckets, rain boots (or other water-resistant shoes) and clean up our beloved estuary! We will meet in the Earhart parking lot at 8:30 AM and walk down to Harbor Bay. We can supply robohands, gloves, and a limited number of buckets. Around 9:35, we will weigh the trash collected.    **This event will be canceled when it is raining.**
