COVID-19 Testing is REQUIRED to Return to Campus

Superintendent Scuderi sent out the following message on Wednesday of this week:

“As a friendly reminder: all elementary students who plan to attend our in-person sessions beginning on March 15 will need a COVID-19 test prior to returning to campus.

As of yesterday [3/2/21], the county case rate is 6.3 cases per 100,000 residents. According to guidance from the California Department of Public Health, this rate requires us to test our students every two weeks.

That means that in order to start in-person instruction on March 15, your student will need to get a test this weekend or next week.”

APPOINTMENTS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED.

You can access the appointment system and find out more information here:

AUSD’s Student COVID-19 Testing web page

Families who plan to have their children return to campus will be required to have their children take a COVID-19 test either weekly or bi-weekly (depending on guidance from state and county health officials).

Free COVID-19 testing is available again this weekend for AUSD students. This is a great opportunity to get in the system and get your kids familiar with the (comfortable!) process– most kids report the swab feeling like a tickle.
