Join Earhart’s Garden Club & Spring Work Party

This Spring we are looking for families to help us get our Earhart gardens back in shape! The gardens will not only beautify our school, but will provide areas for hands-on science lessons, become butterfly-friendly habitats, and provide plenty of native flowers and plants for our pollinators.

On Saturday, February 11, PTA invites you to a Garden Work Party at school, behind the science classrooms. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Activities include weeding, mulching pathways, and planting. If you have large pieces of cardboard, feel free to bring those since we will put the cardboard down in the pathways to minimize weeds. Basic equipment will be provided but feel free to bring your own gloves and spade/shovels if you have them. Snacks and drinks will be provided to all who join as well.

Going forward (exact start date TBD), students and their parents are welcome to stop by the garden on Wednesdays immediately after school to do regular garden maintenance and care. Ms. Arena has offered to lead this weekly effort. If you are interested in helping to be the parent coordinator for this club, please contact president@earhartpta.org. In the future, we hope to expand this program to become a Garden Docent program, much like our Art Docent program.

No green thumbs needed–we hope you will join us! RSVP now
