April 3rd Garden Club Updates

We kicked off the Earhart Garden Club on March 8th, and we’ve made immense progress from weeding and seeding to making our Garden Journals. We’ve learned so much, but I must say the kid’s favorite so far has been finding and learning about the worms and ladybugs that enrich our soil! Thank you to all who donated cardboard boxes to help prevent weeds and plastic containers to make greenhouses in March.
April is going to be so fun, and we invite kids TK-5th grade to join our FREE club on Wednesdays.
The Garden Club will sponsor four events during Earth Week:
  1. Recycling Program for Bread Tags (flyer below)
  2. On “No Waste Wednesday,” April 19th, from 1:50-2:50 pm, join us for a demonstration on how to compost and how to plant your food scraps.
  3. On Saturday, April 22nd, from 9:30-11:00 AM, we are going to have a Garden Spring Party to culminate the Earth Week events! Join us to plant vegetable, fruit, and pollinator starter plants! We will have gardening supplies, drinks, snacks, and a garden-themed scavenger hunt at the end! Make new friends, bring the whole family, and enjoy the beautiful weather while we garden!
This week, we will meet April 5th from 12:10-1:10 pm. Join us as we will plant our California Native Plant Garden Bed!
