Our district PTA (PTAC) is fortunate to have multiple family engagement groups in addition to PTA. These include Alameda MOSAIC, focused around supporting African-American/Black/Multiethnic students and their families, and ASPED, focused on supporting students who receive special education services and their families. As we get back into the swing of things, please make sure to continue to drive safely around all school zones! It is imperative that our children feel safe coming to school, and that includes walking or biking. Please note that the city of Alameda will be helping: During the first week of school, as they have in past years, Police will do targeted enforcement for the most dangerous behaviors around schools. Parking enforcement will be out to ticket people parking in the white zones.

Superintendent Scuderi sent out the following message on Wednesday of this week: “As a friendly reminder: all elementary students who plan to attend our in-person sessions beginning on March 15 will need a COVID-19 test prior to returning to campus. As of yesterday [3/2/21], the county case rate is 6.3 cases per 100,000 residents. According to guidance from the California Department of Public Health, this rate requires us to test our students every two weeks.
